A little bit rock, a little bit country

I thought I’d go in another, completely different musical direction for this playlist.

I’ve always been a bit of a country-rock fan and, a few weeks ago, after a chat with Welsh international rugby player Jonathan ‘Fox’ Davies, I found myself with Jonathan, Jonathan by The Rockingbirds as an earworm. The next song was easy: something from the musician that The Rockingbirds song was about, Jonathan Richman. From there, I took a meandering journey through some 70s rock with country tinges, some 80s revivalists, plus some more recent tracks from the likes of Jen Cloher and Courtney Barnett.

So stick a wad of chewin’ tobacco in your mouth, put your stetson on your head and boogie.
